'Kitchen Makeover' Turning Heads in Rural Bangladesh
As part of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstove's campaign to popularize clean cooking technologies - a motley crew recently landed in a remote village in Bangladesh. There the team took over the traditional kitchen and gave it a makeover.
The activity generated huge interest in the community, as neighbors flocked to see what was going on. This helped spark new dialog around the need to modernize Bangladeshi kitchens and to protect women (who do most of the cooking) from excessive exposure to cooking fires and smoke.
The campaign was conceptualized and implemented by Purplewood Limited, a Bangladesh-based behavior change and marketing consulting firm.
