It’s an exciting time to be a global entrepreneur. Around the world, business leaders are developing innovative new solutions to address the world’s major challenges. We asked six entrepreneurs from the United Nations Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council, what they wished most for every child, every where. Here’s what they had to say.

“A well-educated and healthy mother. Because mothers have a huge influence in the lives of their children whether it is their health, education or life opportunities.”

“What I wish for every child in the world is that they could truly realize they’re capable of more than they know. I hope in the near future they have equal access to realizing all of that potential they have.”

Georgie Bernadete, Co-founder and Head of Strategy of Orchard Mile

“I wish what was true for every child was the same that is true for my son. To maintain for as long as possible, a sense of magic and a sense of possibility. I wish that every child could be allowed the ability to live in a state of natural curiosity; and with a sense of wanting to be of service to others.”

Davis Smith, Founder and CEO Cotopaxi:

“I wish that every child first of all was loved. I think that’s the most important thing. That they feel love and confidence; that they have a knowledge of being special and born with unique skills that will help make the world a better place. I also hope they could know that we need them. This planet needs them so much.”

Anna Ryott, Managing Director and CEO of Swedfund:

“I wish that every child everywhere could reach their full potential, and to do that they need a family. They need love and they need to get an education. That is my wish.”

James Irungu Mwangi, Executive Director of the Dalberg Group:

“I wish that every child everywhere was raised with a sense of their own potential and value; with an understanding of where they fit within the global family, and an assurance that they have something to contribute. Through play and exploration and taking risks, each of them can change the world for the better.”
