5 Things You Should Know About the Global Moms Relay

Springtime is here in the northern hemisphere, and Mother’s Day is fast approaching in the US.

With that in mind, Johnson & Johnson and the United Nations Foundation will ignite a conversation on healthy and happy families starting May 3 with their fifth-annual Global Moms Relay — a digital campaign raising awareness and donations for mothers, and families everywhere.

The campaign runs through June 16, Father’s Day, in the US. Global Moms Relay kicks off with Moms+SocialGood, a global conversation with experts and activists celebrating and discussing family health in New York City.

What Is Global Moms Relay?

Global Moms Relay is a digital storytelling and fundraising campaign supporting that all Global Citizens can do more than participate in, they can truly make a difference for the lives of mothers and children through social activism.

Who Does Global Moms Relay Help?

The campaign supports Girl Up, The US Fund for UNICEF, UNFPA, Shot@Life, and Nothing But Nets. Five not-for-profit organizations that put the needs of women and children first.

How Does It Work?

For each social media share, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 (per action up to $500,000) to help improve the health and wellbeing of moms and kids worldwide through Girl Up, the US Fund for UNICEF, UNFPA, Shot@Life and Nothing But Nets.

By using the Donate a Photo app, everytime you share a picture, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to one of the five organizations mentioned above.

How Can I Join?

The premise is simple. Share a story (either your own or choose one from 25 influential celebrities, mothers, fathers, and community leaders curated by the campaign) that answers the question: “What do you wish were true for every family, everywhere?”

What’s the Impact?

Last year, the campaign raised $500,000, exceeding their goal of $405,000 thanks to support of engaged Global Citizens. The contributions from Johnson & Johnson will help improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and children everywhere.
